Brandy is a distillate of, among other things, almonds. Developed in the late 18th century during French rule. The recipe is secret, of which Van Wees is the only one who makes the authentic brandy. We would like to keep it that way. Brandy is still consumed by a few, often with a spoonful of sugar, but it is mainly used for canning fruit. You don’t taste brandy in the fruit, its function is mainly in preserving it and strengthening the flavors.
