The name of this liquor reveals its purpose. It was drank after the birth of a child. Anis is considered to have a calming function. After a view nips of this liquor the newborn mother could take a small rest.
The most important ingredient in this liquor is Spanish anis from Alicante, of which the buds are used. It’s not very easy to distill anis, which asks for special skills. If not proper distilled it turns to milk when one adds water.
